Duties relating to house rules

(1) The rooming house operator must give a resident at least 7 days written notice of any proposed change in the house rules. Penalty: 25 penalty units.

(2) A rooming house operator must—

(a) take all reasonable steps to ensure that the house rules are observed by all residents; and

(b) ensure that the house rules are reasonable and are enforced and interpreted consistently and fairly.

Note This section is a duty provision and a contravention of this section may be dealt with as a breach of a duty under Part 5 and other provisions of this Act.
