VIC: Residential Tenancies Act Section 173 Resident must notify owner of and compensate for damage

Resident must notify owner of and compensate for damage (1) If any damage other than fair wear and tear is caused to a site, the caravan or any facility in the caravan park by the resident or his or her visitors, the resident must— (a) repair the damage; or

(b) notify the caravan owner or caravan park owner of the damage and pay compensation for the damage to the caravan owner or the caravan park owner. (2) A resident must report to the caravan park owner any damage to a site or damage to or breakdown of communal facilities of which the resident has knowledge. NoteThis section is a duty provision and a contravention of this section may be dealt with as a breach of a duty under Part 5 and other provisions of this Act.
