Renter must notify residential rental provider of damage
(1) Subject to subsection (2), a renter who becomes aware of damage to the rented premises, as soon as practicable, must give written notice to the residential rental provider of— (a) the fact that the damage has occurred; and (b) the nature of the damage.
(2) Written notice under subsection (1)— (a) may be given by electronic communication in accordance with the Electronic Transactions (Victoria) Act 2000; and
(b) is not otherwise subject to the requirements of section 506.
