Renter must report damage and breakdown of facilities to residential rental provider A renter must give written notice to the residential rental provider as soon as practicable after becoming aware of—

(a) damage to the rented premises; or

(b) the breakdown of facilities, fixtures, furniture or equipment provided by the residential rental provider.Note Section 506(1)(da) provides that a document to be served on or given to a person under this Act may be served or given by electronic communication in accordance with the Electronic Transactions (Victoria) Act 2000.
