Exemption from receipts for rent

(1) For the purposes of section 43(4) of the Act, the Director of Housing or an agent of the Director of Housing is prescribed as a person who is exempt from the requirements of section 43(1), (2) and (3) of the Act.

(2) Despite subregulation (1), if the Director of Housing or an agent of the Director of Housing gives a receipt for payment of rent under a residential rental agreement, the receipt must— (a) be in writing; and (b) state—

(i) particulars sufficient to identify the renter and the rented premises; and

(ii) the date of receipt; and

(iii) the amount paid; and

(iv) the fact that the payment is for rent.
