Safety Checks
Long post but important message:
A reminder 5 years on from the 2021 amendments and we still have Safety Check companies confusing RRP's and PM's by speaking compliance rather than Safety. The RTA requires safety checks, it does not require compliance checks and as a general rule there is no law that requires anything in a home to be compliant with current building standards the requirement is to comply with the standards at the time of installation. I am still hearing some of these companies insisting rangehood heights need to be raised and other issues, these recomendations are either grossly negligent or purely fraudulent. So always question when you are told something is non-compliant, always ask is it unsafe.
